Free support for families at series of drop-in events

A series of free events aimed at helping parents to support their children begins next week.

The first in the series will take place on Tuesday 25th June at Middleton Grange Shopping Centre (outside B&M) from 10am – 3pm, where parents of children aged 0-19 will have the chance to browse tables and speak to professionals from a range of different organisations.

Advice will be available on a range of topics including feeding and child safety, sports activities, emotional wellbeing and support for fathers. There will also be practical demonstrations including bathing and changing a nappy.

James Sinclair, Deputy Children’s Centres Manager at Hartlepool Borough Council, said: “The #LoveHartlepool campaign is all about celebrating the successes of our town, and these events are a great way to increase awareness of the incredible local support available to families and parents to be.

“Each month, staff and organisations will shape the information, advice and demonstrations around what members of the public would like to know or find out more about.

“We would encourage all families to come along, take a look at what’s on offer and also tell us what they would like to gain from the events.”

Mark Rycraft, Middleton Grange Shopping Centre Manager, added: “Child safety is of the utmost importance, and these monthly events will give parents the opportunity to raise any questions, concerns or share their own ideas in a safe and confidential environment.

“As Middleton Grange sits at the heart of the community, our focus is always on how we can best support families across the local area. We look forward to welcoming everyone along to learn more about the incredible groups and services that are available across the town.”

The next sessions will take place at the same time and location as follows:

  • Tuesday 30th July 2019
  • Tuesday 27th August 2019
  • Tuesday 24th September 2019
