RACZ group has been announced as the sponsor of this year's Hartlepool Waterfront Festival.

The local company, owner of Domino’s Pizza in York Road and The Black Olive at Hartlepool Marina, will sponsor the Hartlepool Borough Council-run festival on July 20th and 21st to support creative activities for young people in the town.

The sponsorship package will see it match-fund the pay-what-you-decide scheme at the Hartlepool Waterfront festival, which will allow visitors to make anonymous donations based on their experience.

All monies raised through the pay-what-you-decide scheme will fund additional creative activities at next year’s festival.

RACZ group agreed to become the sponsor following a search for kind-hearted business leaders who believe that creativity is the key to the best future for our children.

David Worthington, Head of Culture at Hartlepool Borough Council, said: “We are excited to begin what we hope will be a fruitful relationship with RACZ Group, and we are grateful for their support which will ensure that the festival can remain pay-what-you-decide.”

““It is a new form of sponsorship that has never been seen before in Hartlepool and it is a fantastic way of encouraging our children and young people to be creative and letting them know that careers in the creative industries remain a viable option.

“This year’s festival will include a celebration of Hartlepool talent on the #LoveHartlepool stage, so we are so pleased and proud to see a successful Hartlepool business supporting the town’s biggest event and one of the best festivals in the North-East.”

Laura Tarran of RACZ Group, which is based at Wynyard Business Park, said “We can’t wait to support this year’s festival!  We’re a growing company that employs many people from the area.  We started in Hartlepool and now have outlets throughout the country, but we’re so proud to still call Hartlepool our home!

“Waterfront Festival is symbolic of what makes Hartlepool great and we can’t wait to support the festival and have a presence at this year’s party!”

This year’s festival is based on the theme of ‘Harbour of Refuge’, which will see Hartlepool Waterfront transformed into the site of a giant two-day welcome party. Each day will feature a programme of arts, music and entertainment, as well as some family favourites, from 12pm-7pm.
