Libraries offer new digital service

BorrowBox is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and enables people to borrow two eBooks and up to five eAudio books for a maximum of four weeks.

The service is free to use and all people need to access it is a valid library card and a smart phone or tablet.

Councillor Shane Moore, Leader of Hartlepool Borough Council, was briefed on the new service when he visited the Community Hub Central in York Road which incorporates the town’s Central Library.

 “As a Council, we are constantly looking for new and innovative ways of delivering key services to residents.

“This is an exciting development and I would urge people to make full use of it. We are already getting some great feedback from library users who say it is easy to use and offers a great choice of titles,” he said.

The registration process is very simple – library members just need to download the BorrowBox app, choose Hartlepool Libraries and enter their details for immediate access to a collection which includes a wide range of titles for adults and teenagers.

For anyone who doesn’t have a mobile device, the service can also be accessed via a PC or laptop by logging on at https://fe.bolindadigital.com/hartlepool

If a title is already on loan borrowers can place reservations and they will receive an email notification when the book becomes available.
