Audiences are invited to step back in time in this new play which imagines a meeting of all five of the Ripper’s victims, as they compare the stories of their tragic lives and the horrific circumstances that led to their deaths.

The play presents a fascinating insight into the tales of these real women and how they lived and died in the Autumn of Terror of 1888, incorporating the bawdy humour and songs of Victorian music hall to create what is sure to be a hugely entertaining experience for audiences.

Sarah Seymour, founder of Timeworks Theatre and the play’s director, said: “It’s really exciting to be bringing this new play to north east audiences. Stories about the Ripper murders often focus on Jack himself, but we wanted to redress the balance and look at the victim’s perspectives.

“It’s so tragic, revealing what it was like for these women to live in conditions that were so horrendous it made them easy prey for the Ripper, but the play also contains so much humour, entertaining songs, and a powerful message about attitudes towards women.”

Tickets cost £10/ £9 concession and are available from www.destinationhartlepool.com or Hartlepool Box Office located at Hartlepool Art Gallery, Church Square.
