Resurfacing works to begin on Stockton Road

Published Wednesday, 23rd October 2019

Drivers are advised that resurfacing works will begin on Stockton Road next week.

Works will begin on Monday 28th October, between the junctions of Caledonian Road and Coleridge Avenue (both junctions will remain open to traffic), and is expected to finish on Friday 1st November.

Works will begin daily at 7.30am and finish at 4pm. While the works are being carried out, the full section of road will be closed to normal traffic with limited access during works for residents and deliveries. The road will be reopened to normal traffic outside of these hours.

Businesses will be open as usual and diversion routes will be in place with signs to inform drivers.

Steven Abbey, Hartlepool Borough Council’s Project Manager for the Highway Improvement Funding Programme, said: “We have scheduled these works to take place during the half term break, in order to minimise disruption for pupils, parents and staff of St Aidan’s Church of England Primary School.

“Residents in the area are advised that, whilst access to resident’s vehicles will be maintained as much as possible, there will be periods of time where there will be no access to driveways.

“If anyone has any specific access/mobility requirements, please don’t hesitate to get in touch via 01429 401990 and we will do our best to support in any way that we can.”

If any of the works fall on a day when normal scheduled bin collections are due, please ensure that bins are presented by no later than 7.30am on the day of collection.

Residents should also be advised that scheduled works may be delayed in the event of adverse weather conditions. The Council apologises for any inconvenience which this essential resurfacing work may cause.
