Young people in Hartlepool who are interested in a career in childcare, elderly care, health care or education are invited to make a date for a careers fair in the town.

Organised by Hartlepool Borough Council’s Youth Services team and Middleton Grange Shopping Centre as part of their ‘Careers@Hartlepool’ initiative, it’s on Wednesday 6 November from 3pm to 5pm in the central square on the ground floor of Middleton Grange Shopping Centre. There’s no need to book – just drop in.

The organisations taking part are Five Lamps, Hartlepool College of Further Education, Hartlepool Sixth Form College, Springboard, Stockton Riverside College and the Council’s Youth Services team.

There will also be a chance to enter a free prize draw to win £20 of shopping vouchers.

Councillor Leisa Smith, Chair of the Council’s Children’s Services Committee, said: “This is a great opportunity for young people to chat to local organisations about the options open to them to find fulfilling careers in these areas of work.

“Parents, carers and anyone else involved in helping and supporting young people are also very welcome to come along and find out more.”

Mark Rycraft, Middleton Grange Centre Manager, said: “Sitting at the heart of the community, Middleton Grange is committed to supporting events that focus on young people and their future development.

“We always get such a positive response to the careers events we host at the centre and I’m sure this won’t be any different. We’re really looking forward welcoming everyone on the day.”
