People interested in launching their own business will be able to get a wide range of information and advice at a special event in Hartlepool.

Hartlepool Enterprise Centre which is run by Hartlepool Borough Council, will host the drop-in event on Wednesday January 15th from 4-7pm.

Advisors from the Council, Business Compass Start Up, Five Lamps, the Prince’s Trust and the National Careers Service will all be present.

The support on offer will include advice on creating a business plan, recruitment, securing premises and finance, including information about loans and grants.

Councillor Christopher Akers-Belcher, Chair of the Council’s Regeneration Services Committee, said: “We have a good track record in Hartlepool in relation to the number of successful small business start-ups. We believe that such businesses have an important role to play in growing the local economy.

“Becoming self-employed can sometimes seem a bit daunting, but there’s a lot of expertise out there in the shape of organisations which are able to provide a wide range of help and support.

“We would encourage people with a business idea to come along to the event at Hartlepool Enterprise Centre and take the first steps towards turning their dream into reality.”
