A series of free events aimed at helping parents to support their children returns to Middleton Grange Shopping Centre next week.

Following on from the success of the first series, the first event will take place on Tuesday 28th January at Middleton Grange Shopping Centre (outside B&M) from 10am – 3pm, where parents of children aged 0-19 will have the chance to browse tables and speak to professionals from a range of different organisations.

The focus of each event in this series has been shaped by feedback from previous events, centring on what members of the public said they wanted to know or find out more about.

A range of organisations will be present at each session, with guests including Andy’s Man Club, Hartlepool MIND, and the Council’s Early Years Team and Community Support Team. Advice will be available on a range of topics including feeding and child safety, communication speech and language, sports activities, mental health and emotional wellbeing.

James Sinclair, Deputy Children’s Centres Manager at Hartlepool Borough Council, said: “The first series of events proved a huge success, and we received a lot of positive feedback from members of the public.

“They are a great way to increase awareness of the incredible local support available for local residents, families and parents to be. We would encourage everyone to come along and take a look at what’s on offer – you never know what you could discover.”

Mark Rycraft, Middleton Grange Shopping Centre Manager, added: “Middleton Grange sits at the heart of the community, and our focus is always on how we can best support families across the local area.

“The first sessions were a huge success which is why we were keen to bring them back for 2020 with important topics that matter most to people in Hartlepool.

“The content is shaped by you, so make sure you come along and learn more about the incredible groups and services that are available across the town.”
