Elwick Road reconstruction works to begin

Work will begin on Monday (February 24th) to reconstruct parts of Elwick Road, with a partial closure and traffic diversions in place.

Several sections of the road between Park Drive and the Dunston Road roundabout need to be rebuilt as the surface is failing badly.

The works are expected to take about three weeks to complete.

A stretch of Elwick Road between Egerton Road and the north end of West Park is to be closed during this period, and traffic will be diverted along Egerton Road and West Park. Part of the road directly in front of Woodlands Grove is also to be reconstructed, with temporary traffic lights required during the works.

Residents affected by the works are advised to put out their bins as usual.
