An appeal has been made to try to trace any surviving relatives of a man from Hartlepool.

Robert Russell – who was born on 15 January 1928 - passed away aged 92 on 23 April in Lindisfarne Care Home, Seaham.

Leesa Sunley, Hartlepool Borough Council’s User Property and Finance Officer, said: “We are naturally very keen to trace Mr Russell’s surviving relatives at this sad time.

“Unfortunately the details which we have are very limited but we understand that he has nieces and nephews who may still live in Hartlepool.

“We would be very grateful if any members of Mr Russell’s family could please get in touch with us.”
