Please use alternative payment methods

Members of the public are being asked not to pay bills at the cash office within Hartlepool Civic Centre’s reception area and to use alternative methods to help limit the spread of Covid-19.

A 24-hour payments hotline – 0300 1230 703 – can be used to pay council tax, business rates, sundry debts, housing benefit overpayments, Hartlepool Borough Council rents (not Thirteen Group) and residential care bills, while a range of payments can also be made online at https://online.hartlepool.gov.uk/

Where people do need to visit the Civic Centre - to seek assistance from Hartlepool Borough Council’s Local Welfare Support team or for housing advice and homelessness support, for example – daily opening hours will be reduced to 10am-4pm from Monday (May 4th).

Despite the reduced opening hours, people can continue to contact these services by telephone during normal office hours. The number for the Local Welfare Support team is (01429) 284284, option 1, while Housing Advice and Homelessness staff can be contacted by calling (01429) 266522 and asking for the Housing Advice Team.

Vouchers provided by the Local Welfare Support Team and Adult Social Care can still be collected from the cash office, the daily opening hours of which will be 10am-2pm from Monday (May 4th).
