A whole host of adventurous summer fun awaits children signing up to a holiday activity programme.

Carlton Adventure, based at Carlton-in-Cleveland, near Stokesley, and operated by Hartlepool Borough Council, is about to launch its holiday programme.

Activities, including orienteering, forest adventure, shelter building and archery, will take place on July 21, 22, 28 and 30, and August 4, 5, 6, 10, 13, 14, 17, 19 and 21.

General Manager Rachael Graham said: “As lockdown restrictions ease, it is a great chance for children to make the comeback to adventurous activity with us and to make some amazing memories.

“The programme has been designed to guarantee lots of fun and excitement from start to finish and we can’t wait to get started.”

The programme costs £15 per day and is an opportunity for young people aged 8 and over to take part in a series of exciting outdoor pursuits with the stunning North Yorkshire Moors as the backdrop. Participants must provide their own packed lunch.

All activities are to be run in line with current Government COVID-19 guidelines and the situation will be monitored on an on-going basis.

Following its summer holiday programme, Carlton Adventure plans to relaunch curriculum days for schools in September and it hopes to be able to resume residential stays in the autumn, although this will be dependent on Government guidance.
