COMPLETION OF AUDIT OF ACCOUNTS

In accordance with the Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015 para 10 2 (a) notice is hereby given that the Audit of the Council’s Accounts for the year ending 31 March 2020 cannot be concluded before the 30 November, 2020 deadline.

The Council’s accounts were passed to the external auditors Mazars on the 30 June, 2020.  Mazars had completed their audit by the end of September. However, they are unable to sign off the Councils accounts as there are outstanding issues in relation to the Teesside Pension Fund auditor assurance which Mazars require to complete the audit.

The outstanding issues will not impact on the Authority’s usable reserves or budget position in the current or future years.
