Get set for a cracking Easter

There’s an exciting programme of free activities in store for children and young people in Hartlepool during the Easter holidays.

It’s part of Hartlepool Holiday Fun – a new project which will be providing activities for children and young people in Hartlepool over this year’s Easter, summer and Christmas school holidays. It’s organised by Hartlepool Borough Council with support from schools and local organisations and is funded by the Department for Education.

Due to the current COVID restrictions, most of the Easter events will be online, as well as on local television channel Teesside TV.

Councillor Leisa Smith, Chair of the Council’s Children’s Services Committee, said: “The school holidays can lead to boredom for children and young people at the best of times, but even more so at present with the current COVID restrictions.

“We’re lining up some interesting and varied activities for them to enjoy, with sessions to suit all age groups from the very young right up to older teenagers.

“As well as being lots of fun, we hope the activities will spark new interests for them and broaden their horizons even more.”
