Walk-in vaccination clinic to be held in Hartlepool

Published Monday, 5th July 2021

A walk-in COVID vaccination clinic will take place in Hartlepool this week to enable people to receive their first and second doses.

It will take place from 9.30am-12pm on Thursday July 8th in the car park at St Aidan’s Foodbank, St Aidan’s Church, Oxford Street.

It will be open to anyone aged 18 and over, and there is no need to book an appointment.

First and second doses of the Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines will be available and they will be administered on a first come-first served basis.

People planning to attend for a second dose of the vaccine are reminded that it must be at least eight weeks since they received the same first dose.

Medical staff will be on hand to answer any questions

Craig Blundred, Hartlepool Borough Council’s Director of Public Health, said: “The walk-in clinic is a key part of our drive to vaccinate as many residents aged 18 and over as possible. I would urge people who are not yet fully vaccinated to attend.

“It is very important to get both doses as full vaccination is the best way for people to protect themselves and those around them.

“The vast majority of cases we are currently seeing are in younger age groups who are now eligible for vaccination and the fact we are not seeing as many in older groups who have had the vaccine is testament to the success of the rollout.”
