Free marketing workshops are being offered to businesses in Hartlepool in an effort to help them boost trade.

Hartlepool Borough Council has launched the “Grow Hartlepool” initiative which is open to all businesses based in the Borough, with funding from the Government’s Welcome Back Fund, provided through the European Regional Development Fund.

Councillor Paddy Brown, Chair of the Council’s Economic Growth and Regeneration Committee, said: “This is another example of our on-going commitment to provide support to local businesses hard hit by the pandemic.

“We are delighted to be able to deliver these free workshops thanks to the funding from the Welcome Back Fund, and I would urge businesses to take advantage of them.”

Six workshops are to be delivered in-person at The BIS in Whitby Street by an external provider, Dan McGovern Digital Marketing. Each will focus on a different theme, including identifying target markets, capturing the attention of customers, developing websites and generating increased sales.

The workshops will also be recorded so that businesses can access the training online. They will take place from 8.30am for approximately one hour on Wednesdays from November-January. Participants will also be able to benefit from 1:1 advice and support.

A special taster event will take place at The BIS on Wednesday 10th November from 8.30-10.30am. Businesses wishing to attend need to register via Eventbrite at https://bit.ly/GrowHartlepool
