Free energy- efficient home improvements are on offer across Hartlepool
Published Friday, 12th November 2021Residents across Hartlepool can benefit from free energy - efficient improvements worth up to £10,000 thanks to receiving a share of a multi-million pound Government funded programme, led by Hartlepool Borough Council, in partnership with E.ON.
The Green Homes Grant Local Authority Delivery Fund offers free energy efficient measures such as air source heat pumps, solar panels and external wall and loft insulation.
Here’s all you need to know.
Who is eligible?
You could be eligible if your annual household income is less than £30,000 and your property has an energy efficiency rating of D, E, F, or G.
Landlords may also be eligible for a grant of up to £5,000 for improvements, but will be required to make a contribution towards the total cost.
What do I do if I think I qualify?
If you think you could be eligible for home improvements, visit E.ON website.You can also call E.ON on 0333 202 4820 between 9am and 5pm from Monday to Friday.
What will happen if I do qualify?
If you qualify, one of E.ON’s assessors will visit you and survey your home to determine the best energy efficiency measures or mix of measures for your home.
They will then discuss the options with you and explain more about the measures that could be installed on your property.
How long is the scheme running for?
The scheme is expected to run until 31st March 2022, but will operate on a first-come, first-served basis
Councillor Cameron Stokell, Hartlepool Borough Council’s Chair of Neighbourhood Services Committee said:
