Please look after Hartlepool this Easter weekend

Residents and visitors to Hartlepool are being asked to look after the Borough’s stunning natural environment this bank holiday weekend.

It comes as the Easter weekend could bring the hottest temperatures of the year so far with highs of up to 17C in Hartlepool.

Kieran Bostock, Hartlepool Borough Council’s Assistant Director – Place Management, said: “We really do hope lots of people will take advantage of the improving weather to enjoy our beautiful coastline, as well as our wonderful parks and open spaces.

“We have staff working across the bank holiday weekend to empty bins at both the Headland and Searon Carew, as well as in our parks, In addition we have increased our waste  provision by deploying additional bins.

“But if a bin is full, please don’t stack rubbish on top as this attracts seagulls and can also be blown around in the wind making the clean up more difficult.

“If a bin is full, please walk to the next one or take your rubbish home with you.

“I’d also like to take this opportunity to place on record my thanks to the staff who will be working across the Easter weekend to keep Hartlepool looking as clean and tidy as possible and making it an area we can all be proud of”.
