Council supporting "Win a duvet day" campaign

Alice House Hospice’s Win a Duvet Day campaign, sponsored by Direct Beds Hartlepool, is a prize draw where one winner from each department receives an extra day’s holiday. All money raised throughout the campaign will go towards funding the service the Hospice provides.

Hospice Community Fundraiser Janice Forbes explained how it works; “This is a simple way for companies to support local Hospice care without incurring any additional expense. We are asking businesses to hold a raffle for one of their staff members to win an additional day off, it’s a bit of fun and a morale booster for the dark winter months. All of the money raised from the raffles will go directly towards funding our services.”

Denise McGuckin, Hartlepool Borough Council’s Managing Director said: “We’re proud as an organisation to be supporting this initiative along with other local companies in Hartlepool.

“During these difficult times, it’s important we help fundraise for services such as Alice House Hospice so that they can continue to provide vital care for their patients and their families.

“I would encourage any local business to sign up if they haven’t done so yet and help support a local service.”
