Treat your youngsters to the magic of Ugly Duckling

Published Monday, 20th February 2023

There’s a mesmerising afternoon in store for children and families when Northern Ballet brings its highly-acclaimed ‘Ugly Duckling’ to Hartlepool Town Hall Theatre on Tuesday 28th February.

This magical, 40-minute, child-friendly performance of Hans Christian Andersen’s much-loved fairytale tells the story of the Ugly Duckling, who is lonely and ignored by those around her who think she is too ugly to fit in.

She tries to make friends with fellow ducklings as well as with frogs, cats and even a fox, but realising she is not like any of those animals, she is left sad and alone.

This sparkling performance follows the duckling on her journey as she overcomes her troubles and learns to love herself and those around her.
