Primary school place applications open

Applications for school places for children due to start primary school next September are now being taken.

The closing date for all applications, both online and on paper – is 15th January 2024.

Letters providing more information have been sent to parents via their children’s nursery schools. Where a child does not attend a private or mainstream nursery, or if a letter was not received by the end of November, parents need to register their children with Hartlepool Borough Council’s School Admissions Team at the Hartlepool Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) in Brierton Lane. The team can be contacted by telephoning (01429) 523765 or emailing admissionsteam@hartlepool.gov.uk

The team is also able to provide more information about the schools admission process.

The easiest way to apply for a school place is online at www.hartlepool.gov.uk/schooladmissions

Alternatively, parents can fill in a paper form which is available from all primary schools or the School Admissions Team.

Parents will learn the outcome of their applications on 16th April 2024 (National Offer Day) and any appeals will be heard during June and July 2024.

Parents who wish to enquire about delaying their children’s entry into primary school until the following academic year (relevant only to children born between 1st April and 31st August) should also contact the School Admissions Team.
