Have your say to help shape community pharmacy services in Hartlepool

Residents in Hartlepool are being urged to complete a short survey to help shape the future of community pharmacy services in the town.

The survey, which runs until Friday 20th December, allows residents to voice their opinions and share their experiences of accessing community pharmacy services in Hartlepool. It is anonymous.

The information gathered will inform the review of the Hartlepool Health and Wellbeing Board’s Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA), which will assess what services are currently available, how easily they are accessed and identify what’s needed for the near future.

The PNA will be used by the NHS to make decisions about future Hartlepool community pharmacy services.

Councillor Brenda Harrison, Leader of Hartlepool Borough Council and Chair of the Hartlepool Health and Wellbeing Board, said: “If you live in Hartlepool and you’ve used community pharmacy services or are likely to use them in the future, please take a couple of minutes to complete this important survey.

“Community pharmacies are playing an ever more vital role in helping to maintain and improve people’s health and prevent ill health, whether that’s giving people their flu jab or giving advice on treating minor conditions, for example, or checking someone’s blood pressure.

“The information you give will help us build a picture of the effectiveness of current pharmacy services in Hartlepool and what may be needed in future.

“So your contribution will play a key part in helping us make sure that residents in Hartlepool have access to the community pharmacy services they need. Please take part!”

People can complete the questionnaire at www.hartlepool.gov.uk/pharmacy-services.

Paper copies of the survey are available at Hartlepool’s Community Hubs, or from Joan Stevens, the Council’s Statutory Scrutiny Manager, on 01429 284142 or email joan.stevens@hartlepool.gov.uk.
