Snap up your Christmas gifts at The BIS

There’s a chance to pick up some hand-made festive gifts at a Christmas fayre to be hosted by The BIS in Hartlepool.

Hartlepool Borough Council’s award-winning centre for businesses operating in the creative sector, located at 13-17 Whitby Street, will stage the “Meet the Makers” event on Thursday 5th December from 3-7pm.

Entry is free and it is a chance to check out the products of local creative businesses who design, make and sell their own work, including jewellery, art and illustrations, patchwork quilting and other bespoke goods. Workshop vouchers will also be available.

The fayre is a demonstration of the Council’s support for Small Business Saturday which this year takes place on 7th December.

Councillor Pamela Hargreaves, Chair of the Council’s Economic Growth and Regeneration Committee, said: “Small businesses are the lifeblood of the local economy and it is important that we recognise their importance.

“This event provides some of our local creative small businesses with an opportunity to showcase their products and I would urge people to come along.

“It is also going to be a festive occasion that will enable people to get in the Christmas spirit whilst shopping for some gifts.”
