Restoring pride in our communities
Published Thursday, 27th February 2025A multi-agency “week of action” is to take place in a part of Hartlepool next week to improve residents’ lives and boost their sense of belonging.
Hartlepool Borough Council is to work with partners to tackle a range of issues in the Burn Valley ward.
Resources will be concentrated in the area from Monday-Friday (3rd-7th March) with the aim of making a visible difference by tackling issues such as anti-social behaviour, littering, dog fouling and fly-tipping.
Similar targeted work is also to be carried out in a number of other areas over coming weeks.
Councillor Brenda Harrison, Leader of Hartlepool Borough Council, said: “We want to address the issues that most concern residents and which can have a seriously negative impact on their lives. We also want people to feel safe and to have pride in where they live.
“I would encourage residents to support us by telling us about the issues affecting where they live and passing on any information that enables us to deal with them.
“I’d like to thank the many partner organisations which are supporting this initiative. By coming together and co-ordinating our resources in this way, we can have a real impact on areas, bring about significant improvements and, hopefully, create a feelgood factor for residents.”
The Council’s partners include Cleveland Police, Cleveland Fire Brigade, Thirteen Group, Home Group, Hartlepool Sixth Form College, Thrive-Teesside, local schools, the Salaam Centre in Murray Street and Hartlepool Big Town Tidy Up.
