There’s an evening of musical magic in store when Hartlepool Male Voice Choir and Hartlepool Ladies’ Choir come together for the Ceremonial Mayor of Hartlepool’s Charity Choral Spectacular.

The concert will take place in the town’s Borough Hall on Friday 9th May at 7pm. It's the first time the two choirs have come together for this particular event since 2017.

The money raised will go to the Ceremonial Mayor of Hartlepool Councillor Carole Thompson’s chosen charities for her year of office - Alice House Hospice and Belle Vue Community, Sports and Youth Centre.

The Choirs will be performing a variety of popular songs both individually and together.

Hartlepool Male Voice Choir had its beginnings in the late 1950s and has performed in a number of prestigious venues including the Royal Albert Hall, Sheffield Arena and Durham Cathedral.

Hartlepool Ladies’ Choir has been hitting the high notes since 2002 and it was actually the wives of some members of Hartlepool Male Voice Choir who were responsible for the formation of the ladies' group.

Councillor Thompson said: “My sincere thanks go to both choirs for organising this very special event in aid of my chosen charities.

“It’s set to be a truly wonderful evening of music and will be particularly personal for me as my partner and Mayor’s Consort Phil Holbrook is a member of Hartlepool Male Voice Choir.

“I hope as many people as possible will come along and support this fantastic event in aid of these two good causes that do so much for local people.”

Tickets for the show cost £10 plus a £1.30 booking fee each. There are several ways you can buy tickets:
