The Armed Forces Liaison Group, local Reserve Army units and Cadet detachments are teaming up with the National Museum of the Royal Navy Hartlepool (NMRN) to celebrate Armed Forces Day 2025.

The event will take place on Saturday 28th June on the car park of the NMRN from 10.45am to 3.30pm. The event is open to the public and entry is free.

The official opening ceremony for the day will be at 11am.

The theme of the ceremony is to welcome the new twinning arrangement between the town of Hartlepool and HMS Venturer, the first of the new Inspiration Class Type 31 frigates which was launched this week on the River Forth. The opening ceremony will include the presentation of a plaque to an officer from HMS Venturer.

Throughout the day there will be a variety of equipment displays and activities staged at the museum. These will include detachments from Hartlepool’s Reserve Army units, 103 Field Squadron Royal Engineers and 8 Battalion the Rifles, with equipment displays and exhibits.

There will also be display stands and activities from local cadet units and veterans' associations. All the usual exhibits and facilities at the museum will be open.

During the day, musical entertainment will be provided by the Hartlepool Brass Band and Creative Minds.

Creative Minds CIC is a local charity that aims to provide young people with the opportunities to develop their musical and creative talents.
