New exhibition announced

ONE OF the largest art clubs in the North has announced plans for another exciting exhibition at Hartlepool Art Gallery.

The gallery will be hosting Hartlepool Art Club’s 69th Annual Exhibition from Saturday 19 November, where a wide range of representative and experimental work in a variety of techniques and subject matter will be on show.

Hartlepool Art Club was founded in 1947 and now has more than 100 members, ranging from enthusiastic beginners to experienced painters.

Ashley Landsbury, Hartlepool Borough Council’s Cultural Officer, said: “Hartlepool Art Club’s Annual Exhibition is always a very popular event with local residents and people from further afield.

“The exhibition features artwork in a fascinating variety of techniques and I would encourage people to support this popular group.”

The exhibition, which will run until Saturday 14 January 2017, is sponsored by Hartlepool-based Niramax Total Waste Solutions.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to explore the gallery’s Christmas gift shop which will have an extensive range of handmade items on offer - everything from fabulous stationery and children’s gifts to jewellery, homeware and fashion accessories.

Hartlepool Art Gallery is open Tuesdays to Saturdays from 10am to 5pm and entry is free. For more information please call 01429 869706.
