Residents urged to vote

Residents in Hartlepool are being encouraged to make their voices heard by voting in tomorrow’s General Election.

Peter Devlin, Hartlepool Council’s Acting Returning Officer, said: “It is so important that people use their vote in these elections.

“The democratic process in our country exists to give people a voice and I hope that those eligible to vote take the opportunity on Thursday.”

Useful information:

  • Polling stations are open 7am-10pm tomorrow
  • To vote, you just need to put one ‘X’ in one box on your ballot paper
  • You can find who is standing for election in your area by entering your postcode on this website
  • You don’t need to take your poll card with you when you go to vote, though it can make things quicker at your polling station
  • If you’ve misplaced your poll card, you can find out where to go to vote by entering your postcode on this website
  • Assistance is available tomorrow at polling stations for those who require it

Postal ballot papers can be handed in at polling stations in your area tomorrow until 10pm.
