Children encouraged to send a postcard

Published Friday, 30th June 2017

CHILDREN and young people across Hartlepool are being invited to send a postcard to Council Directors this week to let them know what makes them happy about living in the town.

The initiative – called ‘Send a Postcard to the Director’ – is part of Hartlepool Borough Council’s annual Children and Young People’s Week, which runs until Friday (14 July).

Postcards and post boxes are in all schools and community places such as leisure centres, libraries and youth centres.

Children and young people can also send a tweet to @Hpoolcouncil, or send a message to the Council’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/hartlepoolcouncil

Postcard to the Director

Hartlepool Borough Council’s three Directors will be answering questions:

  • Sally Robinson is the Director of Child and Adult Services.
  • Dr Paul Edmondson-Jones is interim Director of Public Health.
  • Denise Ogden is the Director of Regeneration and Neighbourhoods.

Sally Robinson, Director of Child and Adult Services at Hartlepool Borough Council, said: “We really want to celebrate the children and young people of Hartlepool and to find out what makes them happy, as well as hear about their success and good work.

“We’re asking them to think about things that are good and also those things that could be improved.”
