Councillor Beck said: “I was delighted to welcome the Headteacher of Rift House Primary School and a number of his staff to the Mayor’s Parlour.

“David and his team have very kindly raised funds for my two chosen charities - Macmillan Cancer Support and The Rifty Youth Project.

“I’m a school governor at Rift House and I know that David and his staff are a real inspiration to the community there.

“I can’t thank them enough for this generous contribution.”

David Turner added: “We were absolutely delighted to receive an invitation to visit the Mayor and Mayoress of Hartlepool.

“The money that has been raised is going to two very worthwhile causes and I’d like to say a particular thank you to the school cleaning team who led on this fundraising.”
