TIME IS running out to nominate people for the Hartlepool Festival of Learning 2017 Awards.

The awards aim to celebrate learning by showcasing the positive impact it has on individuals, families, communities and employers.

The awards evening – which takes place on Thursday 5 October – also aims to engage more adults in learning.

There are four award categories:

  1. Adult Learner (age 26 plus)
  2. Young Adult Learner (age 18-25 years)
  3. Learning for Work Individual Award
  4. Innovative Learning Project / Group Award

The deadline for nominations is 4pm on Wednesday 13 September.

Councillor Kevin Cranney, Chair of Hartlepool Borough Council’s Regeneration Services Committee, said: “Our awards evening in 2016 was a great success with learners being nominated from a range of organisations.

“Award winners included students from Hartlepool Adult Education, Hartlepool College of Further Education and employees of local businesses.

“These awards very clearly show that whatever your age or background it’s never too late to learn a new skill – not only can it massively improve your job prospects, it can also change your life.

“I really hope people will take the opportunity to nominate people for these fantastic awards which celebrate the very best of our town’s adult learning success.”
