Children Who Offend JSNA

What additional needs assessment is required?

This section provides detail on any issues or gaps that need addressing to complete this JSNA topic effectively if any exist.

Education and Exclusion Mapping

A detailed analysis of school exclusions, attendance, and attainment is needed to understand how disengagement from education contributes to offending risk. This should include data from all local schools and link to youth justice involvement.

Cross-Agency Audit of Support for Vulnerable Children

A joint review of services for Children in Our Care (CIOC), children with EHCPs, and those missing from education or home is required. This will identify gaps in coordination, access, and continuity across social care, education, and youth justice.

Substance Misuse Engagement Review

An assessment of referral pathways, engagement levels, and treatment outcomes for children using substances is needed. This should explore barriers to access and opportunities for integrated, youth-specific support.
