CORONAVIRUS – Library services still available despite closures

Published Tuesday, 24th March 2020

With all Hartlepool libraries closed as a result of the coronavirus outbreak, residents are reminded that they can still access books.

They are able to take advantage of two digital services - BorrowBox and RBDigital - which are both available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

BorrowBox enables people to borrow two eBooks and up to five eAudio books for a maximum of four weeks.

RBDigital offers up to 8e AudioBooks for four weeks.

The services are free to use and all people need is a valid library card and a smart phone or tablet.

The registration process is simple – library members just need to download the BorrowBox or RBDigital app, choose Hartlepool Libraries and enter their details for immediate access to an extensive collection of titles.

For anyone who doesn’t have a mobile device, the services can also be accessed via a PC or laptop by logging on at https://fe.bolindadigital.com/hartlepool or https://hartlepool.rbdigitalglobal.com/

If a title is already on loan borrowers can place reservations and they will receive an email notification when the book becomes available.

If you do not have a library card you can register online at https://www.hartlepool.gov.uk/info/20012/libraries/177/how_do_i_join_the_library or, alternatively, email infodesk@hartlepool.gov.uk or telephone (01429) 272905.
