We’re hatching lots of Easter fun!

Published Friday, 24th March 2023

There’ll once again be lots of fantastic activities for Hartlepool children and young people aged 4 to 16 to enjoy over the school Easter holidays – and most of them will be free!

It’s all part of Hartlepool Holiday Fun – a project run by Hartlepool Borough Council in partnership with different organisations across the town and funded by the Department for Education – which provides activities for children and young people over the main school holidays throughout the year. As well as having a fantastic time they also get a tasty meal too.

Swimming, a forest school, mindfulness sessions, football coaching, Pokemon and Harry Potter games, cycling, a Fab Lab, music, boxing, arts projects, a sensory holiday club and activities for children with SEND are just some of the activities on offer.

Universal booking for the activities opens on Monday 27th March at www.hartlepool.gov.uk/hartlepool-holiday-fun.

Over 15,000 children and young people took part in last year’s activities. Praise from parents and carers following the Christmas programme included: “My son had the time of his life,” “My kids loved attending the events, making new friends and enjoying the activities” and “Thank you for organising a good, free event – this has helped me a lot especially when the cost of living is so high.”

Sally Robinson, Hartlepool Borough Council’s Director of Children’s Services, said: “Hartlepool Holiday Fun is an outstanding success, bringing happiness to thousands of children and young people and helping parents as the cost of living crisis continues to bite.

“We’ve lined up an action-packed programme for the Easter holidays, with plenty to keep children and young people entertained, helping them discover new hobbies and skills and make new friends and – not least – giving them a nutritious meal into the bargain.”
