2.1.2 – Further information and context
Hartlepool Borough Council have planned in trial surveys to be undertaken on a stretch of dual carriageway running through the town centre (A689) with the idea of implementing preventative maintenance on the concrete base blocks used on this road in an effort to prolong their life. The Council are also actively investigating suitable roads to include in a surface dressing programme for 2026/27 – road surveys from 25/26 and 26/27 will be used to support this investigation.
