Environmental Protection
The Council's Environmental Protection team deal with air quality and statutory nuisance, (including the monitoring and investigation, of noise and other pollution complaints) as well as providing a comprehensive pest control service.
We also authorise certain industrial processes, operate the Council's environmental monitoring system and review and assess local air quality.
The air quality in our area has improved over the last 40 years.
The Council is responsible for regulating certain industrial activities covered by the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016.
The Environmental Protection Team investigates complaints of statutory nuisance and, if appropriate, can take formal action using powers set out in The Environmental Act 1990.
Statutory nuisance could include light, odour, smoke, dust and noise.
Our Pest Control Team offers an efficient, professional and competitively priced service for a range of insects, rodents and other vermin.
