Early Years Education Inspection Framework

Session 1 Quality of Education and Behaviours and Attitudes (CACETLEIF)

This session will cover the key principles and focus of the Quality of Education and Behaviours and Attitudes judgements within the new EIF.

Focus will be on a deeper understanding of:

Quality of education including Cultural capital Intent

  • Curriculum design, coverage and appropriateness
  • Knowledge of what children know and can do

 

Implementation

 

  • Curriculum delivery
  • Teaching (pedagogy) - practitioners have a sound knowledge of what they are delivering
  • Clear knowledge of next steps for children
  • Quality of delivery of the curriculum
  • Appropriate assessment methods established and agreed
  • Sharing information and learning with parents

 

Impact

  • Children are ready for their next stages of development and equip with desired skills to enable learning 
  • Children are making good progress from their start points and gaps are closing efficiently

 

Behaviour and attitudes

  • Attitudes to learning - high expectations
  • Behaviour - positive attitudes
  • Attendance and punctuality
  • Respect

 

All candidates need to attend all 3 sessions.

 

Target audience: Provision managers, senior leaders and childminders delivering EYFS.
