Payments to foster carers

Financial support for foster carers is made up of two main components – a weekly allowance based on the age of the child or children you foster, and a weekly fee determined by our payment for skills model and based on your fostering skill level.

2024 foster carer allowances (per child per week):

0-4 year olds - £176.35

5-10 year olds - £200.88

11-15 year olds - £250.06

16+ - £304.21

Staying Put 18+ - £161.64

Supported Lodgings - £240.67

Band 2 - £93.29

Band 3 - £185.34

Band 4 - £277.41

Specialist Payment - £423.48
