Dr Martin Raby, The Northern School of Art
Martin read law at university, later qualifying as a Chartered Accountant. He began working as a senior post-holder in a further education (FE) college in North Yorkshire, gaining an MBA before returning to work on institutional restructuring as a senior manager at colleges in West Yorkshire.
Martin became a university finance director during a period of change, including the relocation of the university to a new city. He returned to the FE sector as a Vice-Principal of a very large FE college, before joining KPMG’s Education Advisory practice as an Assistant Director. He became the Principal at the School – since rated Ofsted Outstanding and TEF Gold – in 2008, and gained a PhD in 2016.
