START - Hartlepool's Integrated Substance Misuse Service

START provides a range of specialist clinical care for those in the community who require support for drug and alcohol misuse.

These include:

• Opiate substitute treatment, maintenance and detoxification programmes.
• Detoxification for alcohol.
• Relapse prevention medications.
• Harm reduction, services including BBV (Blood Borne Virus) screening and immunisations.
• Direct access to treatment for hepatitis C.
• Health assessments.
• Needle syringe programme.
• Provision of Naloxone.
• Referral for inpatient detoxification /specialist care and support.
