Welfare Support (sometimes known as Local Welfare Assistance) is a fund available through Hartlepool Borough Council to help people settle into the community.  It has specific criteria for when it can be used, including helping people that are leaving supported accommodation, supporting victims of domestic abuse or those with complex situations who need help to set up home.  For more information call 01429 806895 or go to Local Welfare Support | Local Welfare Support | Hartlepool Borough Council .

There are lots of useful websites that provide information on services and support in Hartlepool.  The council uses Hartlepool Now Hartlepool Now :: Home to provide information on a range of useful topics for residents. In addition the website hosts specialist information for older people, childcare, Family Hubs, Warm Hubs and Community Hubs.

Community Navigators can help you to make a plan to overcome challenges in your life, find out about local groups and activities that you might be interested in, help connect you to those groups and, if necessary, introduce you to services that can help you. Community Navigators are available in the Support Hub at Community Hub Central, York Road, TS26 9DE between 10-4pm Mon-Fri. You can also call 01429 272905 between 8.30-5pm Mon-Thurs and 8.30-4.30pm on Friday or email helping@hartlepool.gov.uk.
