Tasty prize enjoyed!
Published Wednesday 8th February 12
THREE lucky diners have enjoyed a mouth-watering experience as part of the Hartlepool EAT+ campaign.
Liz Cawthorne from Redcar took husband Ralph and daughter Caroline to Sunny's Steak House at Navigation Point in Hartlepool Marina after winning a competition offering a prize of £100 to be enjoyed at a restaurant featured in the EAT+ Guide produced by Hartlepool Council.
The competition ran on the www.eatinhartlepool.com website which aims to showcase the range and quality of dining-out destinations in Hartlepool, and attracted over 300 entries.
Liz and her family were attracted to Sunny's after reading about the 'Steakstones' experience which they had enjoyed previously whilst on holiday.
Steakstones are a feature unique - in Hartlepool - to Sunny's Steak House where customers can cook their own steaks at the table on piping hot stones.
"As a family we have always enjoyed a good steak and cooking them at your own table means they are finished to your individual taste," said Liz.
Sunny's owner David Culling said he was delighted to host the competition winners.
"We have made significant investment in 2011 to transform the business into a real steak-house of choice. The Steakstones experience adds a unique dimension and turns a meal out into a real hands-on experience," he explained.
Look out for further competitions throughout 2012 on the www.eatinhartlepool.com website. Diners can also request a copy of the free EAT+ Guide, a handy reference to 36 great eating-out experiences in Hartlepool. The guide is now in its 7th edition and continues to grow in popularity and size each year. As well as providing details of all the restaurants, the guide carries a great selection of recipes to try at home.
