Up for an adventurous summer?Published Thursday, 13th July 2017
There’s plenty on offer for Hartlepool people seeking adventure this summer!
The Outdoor Activities Team at Summerhill Country Park has put together an exciting programme of activities suitable for ages 9+.
The fun begins on Friday July 28 with gorge walking in the Lake District, a day of excitement that will involve a descent of a stream full of natural water slides. Rock climbing at Scugdale in the North Yorkshire Moors will take place on Friday August 4. This is a chance to enjoy climbing and weaselling at the North-East’s premier bouldering site. The final session, canoeing and rafting on the tranquil River Esk at Ruswarp, is to be held on Friday August 11.
All of the sessions which run from 9am-3.30pm, will be led by qualified instructors. They cost £25 per day, with the price including return travel to Summerhill and the use of all equipment.
Suitable outdoor clothing must be worn. Those taking part in the gorge walking and canoeing/rafting sessions should take old shoes, a towel and a full change of clothes. Participants should supply their own packed lunch.
